3 Ways To Present Homemade Sushi

Sushi is very popular in North America. It is tasty and pretty. Sushi makes great appetizers at the parties. Since holiday season is coming up, I wanted to show you how to present homemade (or store bought) sushi for a party. Here I used rolls only. Rolls are inexpensive and easy to prepare as well.

1. Using White Plate
Rectangular or square white plates are perfect for serving sushi. You can buy plastic grass from Japanese grocery stores for very low price, but if you don't have them, just use any vegetables to decorate around your homemade sushi. Place different kinds on one plate with some standing up, some lying down to make the dish look interesting.

2. Using Sushi Geta
Sushi geta is an wooden board for serving sushi. You could find some oriental dish stores. They aren't too expensive but serving sushi on it would make it look professional. Another thing with sushi geta is that you don't have to place many pieces and they just look very pretty.
On this picture, I placed a slice of lemon and cucumber in the middle to make this dish interesting. You can serve this as an appetizer for everyone to grab, or you can serve sushi to each person like this.

3. Using Sushi Oke

If you are sushi lover, you should have one of these sushi okes. This will make any sushi look beautiful.
I'm using a small sushi oke with not too many rolls in this picture. Only decoration here is the plastic grass. You can add ginger and wasabi on the side as well.

Don't forget to buy soy sauce for sushi. I don't eat wasabi, but lots of people love wasabi, so make sure to have some wasabi and pickled ginger. If you can prepare chopsticks for sushi, that would make your sushi look more authentic. Have a great party!
