Elite and Elit

I used to think that Grey Goose was the best vodka. My husband and I liked the design of the bottle and enjoyed having it once in a while.
A few years ago, we went to Paris. We were at the bar in Paris and my husband asked if there is any vodka better than Grey Goose. The waiter brought the bottle of Elit and showed us that this was the best vodka, but it is hard to find. We thought that maybe we could grab a bottle at the airport, but unfortunately, they didn't have it there.
A few months after that, we accidentally spotted the "Elit" bottle at the local liquor store. This liquor store is located in the high-end shopping mall and they carry variety of alcohol drinks including very expensive ones. They only had two bottles at that time. Although it was quite expensive, we grabbed one. We just wanted to see how the best vodka tasted like.
This bottle is extremely tall. Also the bottle is quite heavy. It is hard to keep it in the fridge but once it is cold, you don't need to wait too long to finish it. It is very smooth. A few people can finish it in a short period of time.
Several months later, my husband discovered another vodka called "Elite" in a plastic bottle. This thing is extremely cheap. He asked someone at the liquor store if this was the same as "Elit", and somehow he was informed it was the same. We never pay too much attention to the spelling, so having extra "e" at the end didn't register to us. So he kept buying this cheaper kind.
Finally, the other day, I noticed that they have different spellings. I searched on the internet and noticed that they are even by different companies. I told him about it and he just said, "Oh really?" but didn't believe me.
Today, we went to the liquor store. Because of the holiday season, they bring lots of high-end liquors in the store. They had large section of "Elit". My husband asked someone at the liquor store and he confirmed that these are different vodka by different companies.
Finally he believed what I said. I think husbands are like that. They never believe anything their wives say, but believe anything someone else say.
I guess if we don't know the difference between $7.00 vodka and $70.00 vodka, probably we should be drinking $7.00 ones.
