Ikura

Ikura is salmon eggs often used in sushi and other Japanese food. The name origin is actually from Russian. Ikura is very pretty. They look like little gem stones and they taste delicious, too. I haven't had it for a long time so I decided to buy some from Japanese fish market before the end of the year.
Last week, I was trying to make gunkan sushi, but couldn't make it nicely. When I cut seaweed, I couldn't cut it properly to make the right height and right length. After studying some YouTube videos, I realized that seaweed must be cut into 6 equal width from a sheet. That made the right height to place Ikura.
So finally my gungan sushi was ready today!
