4 Decorating Tips You Won't Fail

There are many interior design books and magazines with lovely pictures. There are useful tips in them but people often fail to create dynamic result as seen in the pictures. Not everyone can afford interior designers and not everyone can afford expensive furniture or antiques. And not everyone has a talent for decorating rooms. Here are some tips for decorating a room you won't fail.

1. Pick a colour and stick with it.
People often use so many different colours in a single room. That maybe fine for someone who knows what he/she is doing, but if you are not sure what to do to make your room pleasant, the simplest thing is to stick with one colour scheme. Once you pick a colour, everything in the room should be the shade of the colour you picked, or white. If you have to bring in something that has other colours, make sure that your colour is at least 60% of that item. For example, it is often hard to find a patterned cushion with white and the colour of your choice only, but if your cushion has 60% or more of certain shade, it does blend in fine in the colour scheme you chose.

2. Everything should be symmetric.
Modern design often uses non symmetric scheme to make the objects interesting, but here we are talking about simple decorating tips for someone who is not particularly talented in interior design. The best way is to try making your room symmetric. For example, if you buy a floor lamp at one side of the room, buy one more and place at another side of the room. Symmetry always gives pleasant effects on human eyes.

3. Unclutter your room.
Mess is the worst thing you can see in someone's room. If you have some mess, just hide it. Hide inside the closet, hide inside the drawers or whatever, but the room should be clutter free in order to look nice.

4. Take photos of your room.
People often see their own mistakes when looking at photos. How many of you saw your face in the photos and saw imperfections that you didn't notice in a mirror? Photos are the best way to judge your own rooms. Take photos and see what's wrong with your room. Improve your findings and take photos again. By repeating this process, you will make your room nicer.

These are my simple decorating tips you won't fail. Hope you can use some tips from this to create a nice room for yourself.
